They make the process easy and convenient and if I ever need help, get stuck or have a question they have experts that are just a click away. I also love how they have a audit risk feature to let you know what your risk chances are. I use TurboTax every year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax review by 1st time user of the software Took about 3 days to complete taxes via TurboTax for a 1st time user of the software a newbie at filing taxes without any 3rd party. Partly it took so long as I needed time to gather all the paperwork needed but even with the wizard (step-by-step) of TurboTax found it time consuming and even found a bug which took almost half day to find a solution or rather a workaround. I think there is a lot of room for improvement to make the process easier and simpler. This includes maybe providing embedded video tutorial, which may companies do to guide new employees on the onboarding process or provide guidance on new tools or procedures. The videos can be divided into novice, intermediate levels. Novice level can cover overall processes which will help newbies know what to expect and know what documents to gather beforehand. Intermediate level can cover more nuance procedures that are more involved or detail focus. At this point, not sure if I calculate the hours spent doing taxes via TurboTax justifies the $ dollar amount save by not going to a professional that does this for a living. Will give another try next year since I know what to expect but will pay close attention on time it takes to complete it and will reassess if it's worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lock into Premium and charged higher than website I have been doing the taxes with Turbo tax for a while. I used the links and all that I get into my email to get started on my taxes. Towards the end of the tax preparation, I thought to look into the prices on their website for comparison and realized that I was charged 50% more ($119 vs 79) than the Premier option and was signed up into some Premium account without clear definition of what I am getting and never knowing that I signed up for it. I also got email for 20% discount but I saw only $10 taken off only and they would not apply the 20% discount from the Turbotax since there was $10 already taken off. They wouldn't honor their own emails. Beware of using TurboTax! Their customer service is pathetic and will just keep on giving sorry excuses since they know you will either have to spend all the time to reinput the tax details for even matching to their website price. This was my last year!

They ask the same questions from one page to another and there are entire pages where you do nothing but click through repeatedly to acknowledge the same information they've already provided. It's laborious.
