I've used them twice before 2021 and it went smoothly but I didn't think it was anything "special", underestimating how much goes into taxes sometimes if any one thing gets complicated. I understand computers, taxes and money I do not lol. I thought it was gonna be a nightmare this time but no... TurboTax laid it all out and answered questions I didn't even know I had during the process. I thought I was even too late to file. Now I'm kinda glad I kept getting those emails reminding me I had a TurboTax account lol. Thanks!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax great UNITL I hit "you cannot e-file" I cannot efile simply because the reason shown below "You elected the simplified AMT Foreign Tax Credit limitation. Print the return and file by mail." given by the software. It hit me just before I am ready to efile!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor support for foreign income Turbotax really deals with foreign income poorly. It is aware that I live abroad, yet automatically skips foreign income (need to go back and select the section manually), and it always incorrectly calculates the FEI credit, requiring going back and figuring out what exactly it is doing to fix the form. The worst thing is that this credit is entirely formulaic and could easily be automated. Additionally, it doesn't support foreign currency conversion, which could also be automated. These problems have remained for at least the pat 5 years with no improvement. +1 star for handling some of the other aspects (AMT, deductions other than FEI-related ones) reasonably well.
