Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest Year Yet Maybe I was more organized this year, but there was no swearing or gnashing of teeth this year. Application was helpful, easy to navigate and only had one problem. When I went to answer a phone call and returned to the computer, the page had frozen. Had to go back to that section and "continue", answer yes and no questions on each page again. Luckily the data I had previously entered was still there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is Ok for the Simple Things I have purchased and used Turbo Tax since it came out. Prior to that I used tax forms, a pencil, and a calculator, I purchased my first home in 1979, and have bought and sold six homes, and relocated with benefits by a large corporation six times. Turbo Tax is ok for the Simple Things. When you go beyond the W-2 form source of income, purchase and home and begin to invest, or inherit resources from your parents, you pretty well need to read and understand the IRS publications to know what you are entering and agreeing to is correct, it does do the calculations for you - that is a clear positive (though understanding them requires going back to reading the IRS Pubs). If you own your own home, and make it up past interest & dividends on investments - again, know your stuff. If you make it to Oil and Gas Royalties, you are on your own.

The prompt are good and the format is easy to follow. I did have a huge panic attack when it came time for doing state taxes. I spent half my day trying to get help and info the program said it required from Intuit in order to proceed. The program instructed me to contact a sales rep at a given phone no.I called and got a useless reco rding.
