At first I thought it was due to being in college with the extra forms but now that I am out of college the price did not drop. I spoke with someone that uses the service as well and they said it was free for them. I have even chosen to not upgrade any services to avoid paying but to no avail. I initially began using these services since it was free but as it seems with the charge even if I am filing simple without upgrades it seems it is time for me to switch to a different service.
