Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbotax is good but doesnt handle refinance well Turbotax is a great tool to conveniently file taxes year after year. But it has a major issue with handling refinanced home mortgage. A refinanced mortgage causes multiple1098 forms to be generated: old lender, transfer lender, new lender. This causes the software to double up the mortgage debt by mistake. Legally, the allowed deduction is a ratio of 750k to mortgage debt. So if debt is miscalculated to be double, the ratio is halved. So, compared to previous year, only half the mortgage interest deduction was applied. I had to debug this issue for several hours before I found help in the manual. Basically, summarize all 1098 info and enter them as one consolidated form. Then the software does the right deduction.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax really gone down hill from 2019 to 2021 I just wanted to print my complete filled out forms like I have for years. But nope, have to log out, log back on, find my file, print. Yep Turbo Tax just lost me a customer, HA and on the first year I paid to use it. Great Job Guys !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helping Double Full Time Student and Mom of Three The daunting task of filing my taxes was made easy for the 5th year in a row. As a double full time student and mom of three I was able to efficiently file my taxes with two little ones on my legs. Knowing the whole time that if I needed any assistance that a representative was available gave me more confidence before e-filing. I love TurboTax and will continue using it each year for the comfort and convenience.
