Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shady TurboTax was fast and efficient, but when it came to payment, things started to seem shady. To start, my account automatically had the Premium option on, and it was the lowest option I could select. It came across that the company was trying to add more fees. Multiple times it tried to get me to upgrade from Premium... even though there are 2 options cheaper - one of them being free. They just make it harder to access or be aware of the cheaper options from the account profile standpoint. You would need to either know beforehand or do some google searches. Then it will ask if you want to pay for their service with your refund which will add another fee just for using this service. On top of that, you get another fee which increases based on the filing options - just requesting to include them sending your state return in, too. So, you will be paying: Taxes Owed + Filing Option + Fee just for paying them with your Refund + Fee for including State (which is already included and filed; increases based on filing option) If you choose to pay with your CC, they go straight to Card Information to Pay Now, without giving you another chance to review what you are paying in total and their itemized fees.
