Rated 3 out of 5 by from Watch out for SCAMS when Downloading Store Product Bought TurboTax from store. Tried to load licensing code on the site instructed. Gave me a page with five reasons it wouldn't work. After two attempts, called number on page for help. Tech with strong Indian accent answered and asked to be allowed direct access to my computer. Trusted TurboTax with my info in past, so I said ok. He pointed out codes on the page and "ran" a test for viruses on my computer. At the end of the coding, it showed I had 15 foreign addresses using my IP address. He pointed out a line that said TROJAN. Now Horrified, I asked what I should do next. He proceeded to tell me my whole network was infected, and he could help. He gave me this phone number, 1-814-699-4233, and told me I-secure LLC could clean everything up for $299(for two years) or $499(forever). The hard sell was the final red flag. I politely declined and said I would take my equipment elsewhere. His tone changed quickly, and he hung up abruptly. I took mine and my husband's laptops into professionals to be checked for viruses. It cost $200. Both laptops were free of viruses. I tried to install TurboTax again. It sent me to the SAME page that said I couldn't download for one of five reasons. After searching a long time for the correct TurboTax help number, I finally got in touch with a tech in Florida. He wanted access to my computer. I told him the story and he understood my discomfort. In the end, he could only suggest I download the program directly from TurboTax's website. I agreed. Luckily, the store that sold me the program with license code took back the open software (minus $10) with stern warning they would not do returns again. This Tax season has been unusually stressful, but once I downloaded the TurboTax program and followed the instructions, I was able to complete and send out my Taxes. Mission completed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very annoying repetitive reminders TurboTax takes advantage of repeat customers with locked in information to overcharge, push extra services and insist that you do things in a particular way - even if you don't want to do it that way you often have to insist multiple times to overide the options the software wants to push. It is extremely annoying and is pushing me to the point where it is almost not worth it to use TurboTax.
