Rated 2 out of 5 by from This year TurboTax was terrible At one point I got caught in an endless loop and had to call your 800 number for assistance. The assistance was to forget it and go to the next step. Although I had just completed a review of my taxes with no errors, when I was ready to efile, I could not because my forms contained 6 errors. I had to correct one error, review, then correct the next error, review and so on. I've been using Turbo Tax since the 1990s and this is the first time I've had a serious issue with it. My taxes took twice as long to prepare because of the program problems. I do two tax forms every year and this was the first time I efiled both of them. Although your program does not mention the efile fee for the second filing until you are in the middle of it, I knew from talking to other people the $20 fee would eventually show up. I did not expect a further $40 refund processing fee to be added on to the second efiling and I object to that one. These fees, essentially, doubled the cost of using TurboTax. My brother used TurboTax for the first time this year, I had to walk his through it even though he is very smart and an IT systems support guy for years; he had one foreign investment and, as happened to me every year until I sold my foreign investments, he has not been able to work around the misprogramming for Form 1116 support. I will not be recommending TurboTax to others again.

It's nice not having to work with an accountant each year, scheduling appointments, and being able to find quiet time with my EOY statements and plug in the figures and having your help when I need to ask questions. A true confidence building experience.
