Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money Year after year I think the price going up will reflect the experience, it is just shrinkflation. Less intuitive, more money hungry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mac Desktop: IP-PIN vs. Filing PIN Unclear The Desktop version needs to clearly differentiate between Identity Protection Pin (aka: "IP-Pin", a6-digit number issued by the IRS) and Filing Pin (5 digit-issued created by the user.) The location for setting these two numbers is disparate and brain-dead: The IP-Pin is set in Personal->Other Tax Situations->Other Return Info->Identity Protection Pin while the 5-digit Filing Pin is set by the user just before e-filing. The difference between these two PIN's should be clearly explained and setting these numbers should NOT be buried deep within menus: I suggest both these numbers be set within the taxpayer information section. BTW, TurboTax for Mac desktop has run like a snail on the Mac ever since its inception. It's clear Intuit is uninterested in spending only the minimum on the Mac port from year-to year. Also, from a software engineer's point of view, there is no reason that such a simple can't continue to run on Mac computers that can't upgrade to Apple's latest OS, but are still being supported by Apple. Is Intuit in collusion with Apple to sell Mac's? No such problem exists on Windows platforms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shortcomings in Professional Process The guided process and pick your own forms is good. Personally, I would like to be able to see my return as I go along because I find it too easy to get lost. This often means having to go through the process rather than just jumping to a place. The submission process is not easy and it is very difficult to go back to specific items when the return has been submitted.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive, charged as much as our accountant This isn't that cheap anymore. Honestly it was about the same to have our account in the past do this and easier
