Main issues: - Responses take forever when you are chatting with the expert. Its a lot faster to call in, but the wait times are probably really long (>1 hr) - Wait times for chatting/text with the expert is really long. Sometimes, they just leave you hanging. E.g. you're waiting for the expert to join the chat room endlessly and just give up - "Expert" gives you very basic advice. I.e. advice you can read FOR FREE on Turbotax website. The live help is just them copying and pasting the free advice when you ask a question - "Expert" doesn't give insightful advice. Very basic advice and you have to ask a lot of follow up questions to get interesting tips or answers not found for free on their website

I declined max assist but yet still charged 129.00. I have used you services for years but I feel like its alot of money when I had one simple form, no deductions.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
