Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5498 Form handling is very poor. IRS Form 5498 use and what to do with it seems to be totally missing from the interview process. I have state forms as well. Filled out and mailed state forms in April. Trying to review IRS for extension is blocked by popping up already filed state taxes. When selecting "states done", and selecting review again, same thing happens. Can no longer review federal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time electronic filing Would have been helpful to know that when filing electronically for the first time, that I did not need to create a PIN number for my wife and I. Prior to our 2021 tax return, we have always used TurboTax and filed with paper. Accordingly, our 2021 return was the first time ever to file electronically. I did not know that our 2021 return had been rejected by the IRS until several days after checking the details of an e-mail from Turbo Tax. In the future, you should consider offering a question prior to the PIN number section that determines if this is the first time ever to file electronically and that a "created by the taxpayer" pin number is not needed. Thanks ----- your team is doing a great job keeping up with the ever changing tax laws and applications.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax online is different from CD version I don't know why but filing with Turbo Tax online told me my federal tax due was more than $4000 but the CD version said I only owed $1200 with the same exact info. This is very strange to me and makes me wonder what's going on. Please address.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have been in a funk since May 2022 I received a notice from the IRS in June informing me that my 2020 1041 for Mom's estate was never filed and that I owed the tax due of $847 plus fines and late fees totaling $1441.19. I tried to eFile but it was rejected several times in April of 2021 so I printed out the forms and mailed them to the IRS with a check. The check was cleared on May 4, 2021. The problem turned to be the name of the Estate on the Tax Return did not match the SS-4. Also the dates showing at the top did not show the correct tax period. Very disappointed in TurboTax. I really feel let down!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from E-filing limitations and TurboTax schedule State returns typically have bugs; a nonresident return was rejected twice via e-file this year. Policy to close e-filing on a certain date is not included in any of the e-file rejection communications or within the software product as far as I know; not even in the fine print. Users do not appear guided to this via a website link until the software is already shut down on you. Significant customer inconvenience to paper file and not be timely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND PRODUCT KEY; I assisted my disabled sister with filing and we ended up downloading 3 times; being charged 3 times for the program! Will never use this again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1st Experience with Turbotax Good, but needs tweak Overall, my first experience with downloaded version of Turbotax is good. It was easy to use. I do suggest the following changes: * DO NOT GENERATE ESTIMATED TAX FORMS FOR NEXT YEAR. This has no bearing on reality and how we plan to pay for taxes, and the income estimate for next year is way off. I am afraid if IRS sees this, they may be expecting those payments and this may cause trouble. * In income review, break out capital gain distributions. These are currently not listed, but will appear when you look at dividend details. * Deadline for e-filing was not correct. This created a lot of panic, but then ignored it and was able to e-file. * First page of 8949 form not generated. It may be cleaner to include it - I know it was blank in our case, but other forms include pages with no entries. *.....and I should not need a nickname for a review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Late filing of return. Continued difficulty in making entries. System kept bouncing back to previous screen. Particularly difficult was the printing of the to mail file copy. Never was able to do this.
