I wanted to and I was using the free service of TurboTax, and yet, near the end of filing process, they didn't let me move on until I would pay them. So they charged me $121. Who would call it a free service? This is modern day deception. From next year onwards, I am going to be using IRS free online service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly with substantial resources for diffi Although most of my taxes are similar from year to year, I occasionally have complex issues that are not intuitive and go unanswered in the IRS Publications. Thankfully the Help Forum is well organized and is able to answer even my most difficult questions. The few times in the past 30 years that I couldn't figure it out, the accountants couldn't help me either! Didn't need teh Live assistant but glad to know additional help is available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More expensive, slightly buggy, more integrated Frustrating how much useless information I have to provide before finding out my deductions don't count for anything. Also, for two years in a row I have to do some series of screens over again even when it's not asking me to verify information.
