Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have used TurboTax myself for years with no ccmplaints. I bought it for my son but could not get it installed on his Mac so I let him use my computer. It cost us over $85 plus state charges for him to use my computer to file his taxes. A 23 year old single person. I don't understand all the extra charges I am paying.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax Online Drove Me Crazy I have used TurboTax since early 2000's, always buying CD. It easily populated my return with personal, family, and financial provider information, and I loved that part. This year I went web-based and ended up keyboarding in about a half-hours worth of basic data, again, including easily obtainable financial data. I hate it. TurboTax was unable to find the FEIN (TIN) of one very large NYSE listed financial provider and unable to deal with cost basis of zero for options trading at another. Couldn't find the (reported) states for tax exempt interest. It was unable to find my (state) pension fund electronically. It was able to find my old phone number and credit card for billing, but none of the personal info made it on to the tax return. I'll be looking for other options next year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User Friendly with Excellent Guidance I like TurboTax because it is very user friendly, visually appealing, easy to navigate, and it provides excellent guidance. The ability to import tax information from W2s and other documents via PDF and/or photos is excellent. The syncing between the mobile app and online desktop was seamless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trouble last 3 YEARS installing TurboTax CD on Mac This is the 3rd year that my TurboTax Deluxe CD would not install on my Mac. It happened with the 2020 and 2021 CDs also. I received the same error message all 3 years: THE OPERATION CAN’T BE COMPLETED BECAUSE ONE OR MORE REQUIRED ITEMS CAN’T BE FOUND. ERROR CODE -43 The disk drive I use is an Apple USB Super Drive Model A1379. It worked for TurboTax installs prior to 2020, and it works just fine for other CDs. I bought a newer Mac in 2022 and was hopeful TurboTax would install. The new Mac has Thunderbolt USB 4 ports and no USB A port like my older Mac, so I had to use an adapter (USB A was plugged into the adapter which was directly plugged into the Thunderbolt port on the Mac - there was no hub involved). When I got the error message, I thought maybe using an adapter was the issue. So I got my old Mac out of storage (that has USB A ports). Unfortunately, just like last year (2021) and the year before (2020), I got the same error message using the USB Apple Super Drive. I tried but was never able to figure out a way to contact TurboTax and get help for this recurring problem. For the past 3 years, I have had to end up getting an old disk drive (not Apple) out of storage...and the CDs installed like a breeze all 3 years. Which leads me to my biggest complaint about TurboTax - it's ridiculous trying to reach a real TurboTax person to help when you can't find your issue by searching on the website. I gave up trying. Once I am able to get through the headaches of CD installation, the software works well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much advertising I think there are too many times when you have to choose AGAIN what service you want and for you to choose something that you didn't intend to and too much advertising and confusing messages about Intuit.
