Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overpriced, barely adequate Have used TurboTax for years. It works ok-ish if standard deduction and no complexity in taxes (but then I'd be filling a 1040 out directly), though the price for basic tax services is pretty insane. They've oversimplified the info entry mechanisms to the point that it's nearly unusable while raising prices substantially. If any income complexity, provides no way to confirm what box number/form corresponds to the numbers being entered unless there are errors that pop up during review - and I shouldn't have to pay a bunch more just to ask someone how to get the software to enter income into a specific line of the 1040. Screen-sharing "cobrowse" function was non-functional, and as such the customer service department was unable to effectively advise on errors. Ended up spending hours troubleshooting, would have been easier to just fill the forms out directly with the IRS, which is what I'll be doing next year. Even just attempting to post this review has been super buggy and difficult.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I hate doing taxes! Turbo Tax Used to let you see how much you get back on your return or how much you owe base on how you answer each question. They don't do that anymore which is why I gave them only 4/5. It took me 4 1/2 hours over 3 days to get it done. If you're poor or middle class, it's better (and less expensive) than seeing a professional.
