Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed Used CD purchased from Staples on my Desktop. Opened and worked on my taxes several times in March. On April 3rd, tried to open them in order to file; was told there were updates needed to be done so hit "OK". My screen froze, thus not allowing me to open my taxes. Spent the next week on the phone several times trying to solve the problem. This cost me many hours of being on hold and/or working with helpers. Finally solved all issues on April 13th. although I had to argue that I shouldn't have to pay for my state return, which was evidently part of the issue in opening my form. This was not a pleasant experience.

Turbotax takes the stress out of filing taxes by putting everything in simple layman terms, semi-reasonable price for it's easy on the eyes formatting and optional 'question and answer' breakdowns of exactly what you see for each step, compared to the much more technical but free filing through the IRS.
