Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbotax needs improvement I've used turbotax for years The positives: 1- Still a great application from a great company 2- Easy to use until you there are odd exception case which the pandemic had tons of this year The areas of improvement: Definitely getting more difficult to use. Some examples: 1- I'm an LLC in CA --it use to tell me what to do for Form 568 but not anymore 2- Turbotax expected me to read some small print about if i refinanced. Fortunately i noticed the mortgage interest deduction was coming out as $-1. which obviously does not make sense 3- I get the tax code is complicated but i'm starting to feel that Turbotax is expecting me to understand it more than the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is the Best! I've been using TurboTax for many years and it simply gets better and easier to use every new season. The software is very user friendly with plenty of online help and guidance to answer my questions. The current license lets me complete up to 5 returns, which is super convenient since I prepare taxes for three people in our family including ourselves. But just between you and me, if I had to do five returns, I would either need to become a tax accountant or pull all my hair out whilst getting documentation from said people. Thankfully, with TurboTax, I can keep my hair and my current occupation. So, we're good! TurboTax makes you the pro and saves mucho time and mucho more money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh No... Taxes Due! I've used Turbotax for years, and have the CD Boxes to prove it. Because tax return is due now, I downloaded It quickly and perfectly. It updated and installed without a glitch. Worked perfect and finished fast. Thanx!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but the wrap up needs some streamling I always have to log in to Turbo Tax twice and fill in information 2x. I don't like to save my credit card information but you think they could hold on to it for at least the session. Same with all of the drivers license information. Does the gov require it? Also on the suggested email for emailing news about my filing must be from 11 years ago. I haven't worked at that company forever and just entered my correct email address in 4 different spots. Just needs to be more efficient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Post-Instruction and Pre-Warning of Form 8453 Having just filed my tax return, I was taken aback by the additional step of needing to MAIL in Form 8453 for Form 8949, which TurboTax didn't even bother to provide additional information but just gave a "good luck, you're on your own" on their help-page https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/print-and-file/help/do-i-need-to-mail-anything-after-i-ve-e-filed/00/26144 This very much defeated the purpose of us paying for a solution that is supposed to make our lives easier, but no, TurboTax fails in this department. Admittedly, this was my first time filing taxes on my own after having done so every year via hiring an accountant, but this year I've figured I would give it an attempt to finally take the leap of filing taxes on my own. Now, TurboTax, more or less, sort of traumatizes me. They have no contact support, whatsoever, but the marginal forum, and who has time for that when you want answers quickly. Their contact page is blank: https://imgur.com/a/EFBc0Od . Plus, don't even make get started with phone support because good luck with getting anybody on the phone for help. What TurboTax should have done is forewarn the implication of needing to MAIL in documents with our choices and selections. Better idea, why can't we attach the e-documents, thus avoiding the hassle of printing out 500+ pages of 1099 documents form different brokerages then mailing them all. This simple solution not being implemented of attaching documents boggles my mind. It's commonsensical. This has been a hassle; this has been my first time using TurboTax, and it will be my last. It's not worth the time and headache paying for something then having to create more hardship, when you could have just hired an accountant to do all the work without added stress even for a few additional cost.
