Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I've been using Turbotax for years. I really wish I could import my standalone desktop version to the web. This year I paid for both versions not knowing that it wouldn't port.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving Doing my taxes with Turbo Tax Turbo Tax is easy to use, easy to follow and they have the answers to your questions. Not only do I have the assurance that they are filed correctly without mistakes, but I learn a lot about taxes in the process.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax is good, but still needs improvement TurboTax is generally good, but it still suffers from many annoying, small problems with its user interface. It often remembers what was typed or selected, but then forces the user to occasionally re-type or re-select a box that was previously selected without rhyme or reason. This extends from TT itself to the payment section where it doesn't "save my info", for example. TT would be so much more pleasant to use without these minor but annoying problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was misled about price My tax prep assistant quoted me the wrong price and TurboTax would not refund me the full amount. The service was average. I originally waited a week with no response and had to call and have them assign an active assistant to prepare my return.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No support for extensions; extra e-file charges First, let me say I've been using Turbo Tax software (Deluxe or Premier these days) to do my taxes for many years. While it has it's quirks, I haven't really had much cause to complain. This year, to my dismay, I discovered that there are places that the software developers missed, when for the first time I had to file an extension. I had to file an extension because my dependent made a mistake on their taxes that affected the ability for me to e-file my federal return. First, I discovered the Turbo Tax software I purchased had nearly no support to help file an extension. I had to go to their website and do it from their online form. Why isn't this also included in the software? Next, because my federal return could not be filed, I had to apply for state extensions as well. Because there was so little support from Turbo Tax, I had to google and search what to do for the state extensions. While all of this was happening, I received multiple "urgent" reminders from my Turbo Tax software via the software and emails reminding me to submit my tax returns, even though I had filed an extension on their website. Again, why isn't this also integrated into the software? Now, it is 6 months later, and the deadline is approaching for the extension. Here again, there is no guidance in Turbo Tax for how to file after applying for an extension. The Feds still have not finished the correction for my dependent's return, which means I still cannot e-file any of my taxes, state or federal. The Turbo Tax software keeps offering to e-file, but doesn't offer any guidance on alternatives. There is a button to select to print and file, but the software constantly discourages you from doing that. After talking with a tax professional friend, it turns out that was exactly what I needed to do. Again, Turbo Tax needs to close this loop to provide better support and guidance for extensions and submission issues. Finally, I have to file state tax returns in more than one state. Turbo Tax charges extra for this, both to prepare taxes for the extra state, and again to e-file them. So, I have been charged extra to e-file a state return that I cannot e-file. I am very disappointed in the Turbo Tax business model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo tax and IRS turbo tax has been easy to use for the most part. I've been a customer over 1 decade. However, I was ill and did not file my taxes in during the filing period. However, filing them at a later date, I realized you cannot e-file? You have to print and mail them like in pre-historic times..lol. Let's get the technology together, so us late filers can e-file too! :)
