Rated 3 out of 5 by from Long Time User It seems that every year the program does more and more promotion of upgrades and other products, and it is nearly impossible to downgrade your product level after circumstances change. Also, I sometimes can't get an answer to seemingly simple issues.

The TurboTax app seems straightforward but the filling is broken down into way too many screens from checks and re-checks, some of which are presented as is if the process is complete. A week after filing my federal taxes, I realized the fee I paid TurboTax was for federal only and did not have state, and spent additional money for more “live help” filing I did not need. A million more screens offering additional paid services between the “signature” line and when I actually click to submit return. PUT THE PLAN AND PAYMENT OPTION ALL IN ONE PLACE. Tech support can’t help you with the app (I’ve had this problem multiple years) and they ask you to log on to a desktop computer to finish helping you with the question. Services are expensive - I bought the “live help” option in error this year(I’ll chalk this up to app experience), costing me an additional $100 total (federal jumps from $89 to $179 and state from $59 to $69). An expensive mistake I won’t be making again next year. For much less than the $300 i spent, I could drop my papers off at a local tax prep competitor of TurboTax and skip the confusing price and payment schemes. Super disappointed in this year’s online products. There was nothing special about my return for this year and absolutely no reason it should have cost that much to do it myself! The one question I did have for what possibly was live help (I don’t think it was, because the rep had no clue what I was talking about then offered to transfer me to a professional after several minutes of back and forth) was not answered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't know how I feel. Had to get copy of tax return that I file. Found out that it did NOT file. Apparently ONE more button needed pressed. So now I am late. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Have used for almost 10 years because it is easy, convenient, and quick. I don't know how I feel.
