Rated 2 out of 5 by from cumbersome and full of ads more confusing than it has ever been, and my situation is pretty straightforward this year. Constantly asking questions that I have just answered, trying to push services even when I was in "race" mode which you would think would be streamlined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax Saves Time and Money I've used TurboTax for several years. It always saves me money and almost always gets it right. Somehow in 2022 it underestimated my Federal tax because, after paying that amount, I got a notice of underpayment and penalty from the IRS. Not sure what happened. Could have been me. Otherwise, everything has been great; cheaper than the CPA.

The tips and "learn more" options have been so helpful. Plus if I ever feel too overwhelmed they have live professionals on hand to help out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saving preparation. I love how Turbotax directs me to the areas I need to cover. I don't have to waste time with other areas unless I want to. And all calculations are done automatically. So much time is saved!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Maximum Effort! If you like entering the same data you've already provided multiple times, this is the software for you. Miss some obscure field on some obscure form? They've got you covered with 100% generic explanations of what the field is that apply to most fields on any form - not just tax documents. Good thing you can google it. It's absurd that in 2023 we still get stuck with software this archaic and unfriendly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive for no reason and only one option I was frustrated with TurboTax because when I tried to get my 1040 from last year, they made it difficult and made me fill out a form for why I was requesting it. Then, when I decided I would give them another shot (after getting wrong information last year), they only let me select the >$200 option, though I tried to select a cheaper one. I will go with FreeTaxUSA next year. I'm paying out a lot in taxes and to be coerced into paying over $200 for the Live service I wouldn't have ever used is upsetting. Not to mention the steep prices for state filing.
