Rated 1 out of 5 by Findyourown from Overpriced TurboTax got sued for claiming to be free and lying in the title. I used to pay $65 and that was the discounted price. Now it’s $120 before all the extra stuff they option you. On top of that, they charge $35 if you pay using your federal return money. A neat trick, but rude. I will not be returning once they hit another price increase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jblack822 from Turbotax free I had simple taxes and I was still charged just because my taxes last time in 2020 was more complex and I had the deluxe edition and turbo tax will not let me use the free edition this year. even though my tax returns this year was simple an the code the customer service rep gave me only took off $11.50 so instead of being $59 for federal and $59 for state it was $47.50 for federal and $4750 for state along with a $39 fee to take the payment out of my returns. Total rip off

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
