Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long Time Turbo Tax User I have used Turbo Tax for many years. My only issues have been with S-Corp K-1 forms and stock sale forms. My wife was given shares in an S-Corp and we have investments in mutual funds and brokerage accounts. I have chosen not to use a professional tax preparer. Because I am not familiar with the details of these situations, it often takes many hours of research in the Turbo Tax help forums and on the web to get the answers I need. This year I was again able to get the answers I needed by my own research and asking questions to a relative who had a similar situation. This is the last year I will have to deal with the K-1 form. In general, I am satisfied with Turbo Tax and the help options that it provides.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax Deluxe PC Desktop Version TurboTax has morphed over the years into a HIDDEN FEE RIDDEN software. After paying for the Deluxe version, paying for additional states to download you then HAVE TO PAY an E-FILE fee of $25 per state. Absolutely ridiculous cash grab. $45 for the software, $40 for the state download, $50 for 2 different State E-File Fees, $45 for audit protection EQUALS $180 for entire experience AND I still have to do the taxes myself. Easier to just pay the premium to have another company like H&R Block file them for me with audit protection for an extra $150-$200!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way to expensive now To just file my federal taxes is 200 because I picked the live option but this doesn't allow you to down grade afterwards. Plus I picked the audit protection and they now require you to send your information including SS number to another company with absolutely no federal protection from distributing your info. They don't mention this till after you buy the service. I will be trying a different program next year. my taxes aren't complicated enough to cost $400 to process.
