Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is my "go to" tax preparer software. When I use Turbo Tax, I feel confident that my return is correct. I was also able to get help from a tax preparer on the phone which is worth every penny!

It takes more time to collect your numbers than it does to input the data. Explanations are readily available. This year it seemed like there was duplication in the wages/income section. That being said, there were alerts at the end of the section to review and correct. It probably was user error!

TurboTax claims "100% Guaranteed", but I ended up paying a penalty because my estimated tax payments calculated by Turbotax were too low. This seems like a basic thing that Turbotax should be able to get right. So much so, that I hadn't bothered to check. Now I know better. Turbotax will not take care of everything for you. You have to have more than a general awareness that goes beyond simply answering the questions that Turbotax asks during the interview. And you have to be able to drill down deeply to be certain you won't get stuck with a penalty. And you have to check their results. Or you could end up paying a penalty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not simple to use It's not as simple as advertised. Charging is confusing. I picked the cheaper option, during filling I discovered through TurboTax that I had capital gain. The program made me upgrade to the next level but didn't delete the price for the cheaper version.
