Rated 4 out of 5 by from Getting Too Expensive but still simple to use I have been using Turbotax for over 10 years. The price has drastically risen but what they offer has not. This might be my last year. I could probably go to a CPA for the same or lesser price but have them do the work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Forced upgrade w/o a feasible improvement I have used TurboTax for the last 5+ years and have had no issues with it. It's gotten me a consistent refund. This year I take issue with the forced upgrade. Forcing an upgrade because I have an HSA is pretty sad feeling, but the fact that it could have been another $40 fee when trying to pay out of the refund is tasteless. Do yourself a favor and pay for the forced upgrade out of pocket for only another $4 processing fee.

I wasn’t satisfied with the added INCONVENIENT FEATURE to upgrade in the middle of filing where if you make the mistake of choosing that feature, you cannot go back and correct your error without starting the who filing process over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax Recap After 4-5th years filing with TT, the process is pretty clear, but clarification on deductions related to the 1098-E were needed. Although the live tax expert was requested 3-4 times, 2/4 of the times the call/chat was just dropped without explanation, and the other 2/4 times the support was not detailed enough to be helpful. Thankfully, enough data from past pay statements was provided by the loan company for accurate (manual) entry of the 2022 interest payment which helped to avoid over-claiming deductions. More information should be provided on itemizing interest payments after loan consolidation, so that borrowers can report their actual interest paid rather than the interest paid by the consolidating loan company.
