Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convenient but Expensive TurboTax is super easy and convenient to use! They pull most of your information from existing online systems so you don't have to input much manually. The only down side is their steep prices but the cheaper packages are worth it if you have multiple sources of income and want to make sure everything is filed correctly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as it once was. Online version does not allow viewing of actual tax documents so you can't see how TurboTax is using your numbers to calculate results. If you make a mistake somewhere either because you misunderstood what the program was asking or simply entered in a wrong value, it is very difficult to track back and determine what mistake you might have made. If nothing else, looking a the actual IRS document provides a sanity check that your on the right path. Apparently only download versions of the program have the built-in tax documents which you can review live, but you have to keep updating your computer to stay up-do-date with there software applications. Frustrating. May look at other on-line products next year, or just pay someone to do it for me. Especially as the cost of the product goes up and seems to only get harder to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes complex tax filing as simple as can be! TurboTax makes complex filing taxes as simple as can be! I live in NY and have a small business as well as a FT job as does my spouse. The software walks you through the process with Live Help available at every step of the way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good tool I've used Turbo Tax for years and it is generally very helpful, particularly on Federal taxes. I had to call in and use the help of a tax specialist for my state taxes and she was wonderful. One downside is that I can't "see" the tax forms themselves when I need to if I want to see how a field populated. It would be very helpful to be able to go to a form, select a particular field, and have it provide the information on where the data came from.
