Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is the Way to Go We have used TurboTax for six consecutive years, and I won't do it any other way. My wife works in a tax office, so I know the kind of sloppy, careless, procrastinated work that goes into other people doing your taxes. TurboTax makes this idiot-proof and for a fraction of the cost we would pay to have someone else do it. Plus, you already have to pull together a bunch of financial or tax documents for others if someone else does it, so using a tax preparation software is really not much more work. We were done in fewer than three hours.

Only problem I had was the portion calculating deductions for education tuition expenses as I missed the Tuition expenses line when the prompter asked me about books and fees costs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax Premium Married filed jointly and don't own a business. I have some long term mutual funds with a simple 1099-DIV. I take the standard deduction. I was forced to upgrade to TurboTax Premium. I have been using Turbo Tax for 3 decades. I am unlikely to use them next year as the price I pay is way over the value I receive. I would be happy to pay the deluxe version, but the boost to premium was unwarranted. Moreover, I am inundated with advertising and opportunities to pay for professional advice or upgrade. Never again.
