Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax: I couldn't have done it without you! I've been using TurboTax for longer than I can remember and I've eFiled each time. Each year has been seamless and the process takes my nerves away. I highly recommend it. Of course I could have filed the Donald Trump way, but I'm a better person than that! HA!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Social Security Repaid Benefits Needs Work Have been using Turbo Tax Basic for years without any problems. This year I used Deluxe and found Social Security did not work well for my situation. My wife filed for SS in May 202 but SS felt she should have filed in Feb 2020 and sent us a lump sum benefit check for the two years. In July 2022 they corrected their mistake and requested I return the benefit of $30,819 which we did. The SSA 1099 showed the returned amount in Box 4 (Benefits Repaid). Turbo Tax never requested the complete SSA 1099 be populated in the program similar to the way other 1099s are entered, and I never saw where the box 4 entry was ever used. However I found at the bottom of the Social Security Worksheet there was a box to enter the SSA 1099 information which was not populated by Turbo Tax. I entered the information and it properly calculated the tax due. However when I went to E-File the return I could not because the program had a check that indicated my wife's box 5 entry was too small. Apparently Turbo Tax was expecting that her Box 5 entry on the worksheet would include the 2020 and 2021 lump sums which it did not. It only included the net amount she actually received and did not repay. I tried to E-File my return and Turbo Tax would not allow me to do so. Instead it directed me back to the Social Security worksheet to correct the Box 5 input for my spouse. I contacted Customer Service who did not see any mistakes and could only suggest I file my return using the Mail which I am doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is the Best for Basic. Turbo Tax software is very user friendly and thorough. I use the Basic for my needs. The check-in feature on how the filer is doing is awesome.
