It took me one hour to file my 2022 taxes, including federal and state taxes for income, investment capital losses (le sigh), retirement contributions, HSA contributions, savings account interest, and charitable donations. Instead of staring at forms with numbered boxes and trying to decode it all, I got to be guided through the experience with easy-to-understand prompts, encouragement (!), and game-like steps. Best of all, it's quick and secure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Complex It was far too complicated and waaay too many questions for such a simple return. The IRA kept looping - finally entered it manually. For $119 next year I am going to download IRS forms and do it myself.

Could not figure out how to recover to get five year summary and some carryover information. Had to enter some carryover items manually that were automatically carried over in the past. Perhaps files only saved as pdf?

Every other page was about how to increase the cost of filing. In the end, just the cheapest route is over $160. Now multiply that by every household filing. Other countries get a card in the mail. Pay this Or here is your refund. Simple. This is my last year using Turbotax.
