I even tried to "clear and restart" my tax filing to make it so i didn't have to pay $119, plus an addition state filing fee in the amount of $39, but still at the very end of my filing (after the 2nd time entering all of my information in) is when you can expect to see charges. I could end up paying someone locally less than what Turbo Tax charges at the end.

They ask all the relevant questions and offer different levels of assistance for filing. There are a lot of fees (like I'm paying almost $40 to have my TurboTax cost deducted from my federal tax return).

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
