Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use. Cheaper than an accountant, I suppose Been using Turbotax for a few years now. Very straightforward, easy to use, pretty much idiot-proof, as long as you've got your documents. This year the return wasn't so big, so the fees for Turbotax ended up eating about 40% of my tax return. I suppose I'm grateful to get anything at all, but I wish it was less expensive considering this. Overall happy with the service, glad to get this filing over with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but K-1 provisions are cumbersome Excellent overall, but should be easier to download a K-1. Also, entry of K-1 info requires duplicative data entry especially in Item 20- "other information" categories AH1-n. Also, issuers tend to check the box in Item16 but don't attach the K-3 report which they say isn't available till August so they attach some of foreign operational data (eg Foreign Information Statement- Canada), and the TT user has to guess how to fit it into the TT entry screen which assumes you have the K-3. Not all a TT issue but it would be nice if TT noodled through how to walk you through the foreign stuff in a simpler manner. My K-1s all come from an entity known as Tax Package Support for my pipeline MLPs so perhaps some collaboration between TT and Tax Package Support would lead to a better system. Are you sorry you asked? (lol)
