Rated 2 out of 5 by from A necessary Evil This year it seemed as though basic info was needlessly hard to find. The most basic part, the worksheet where you enter your earnings was nowhere in my account. The program seemed to skip right over that basic data entry. I had to actually search it out. It also did not automatically ask if I had received an Alaska PFD like it did last year, again I had to search out that form. Then toward the end I had to review my schedule C, like I had a discrepancy. There was a box were I could enter a value, but no matter what value I entered it looped me back around to the same screen. But at the same time was clearly altering my information as my tax amount kept changing. In the end there was no discrepancy, I simply didn't enter a 0 value in areas in which I had no expenses. In order to correct this I has to go all the way back to the original worksheet. Perhaps a simple prompt to let people know that they HAVE to enter a value would suffice. I stead the canned help chat advised me to make a needless upgrade. Not as easy as last year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Should not be charging me for state Tax return It is sometimes difficult to backtrack and get information from previous steps in the process. My example is that I used car milage twice for two lines of work income...and could not easily get back to that page in the process to find what I had put down as an estimated total milage. My other big gripe is they charge me to do the state return and say that includes e-filing but they could not accomplish that but still took the extra $$ to allow me to print the return that I now have to mail myself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Getting clunkier and more expensive every year Used to be better, they almost got me in the end with the extra $39 to take the money out rather than paying up front. Couldn't really go back and look at what they were charging me after that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Website needs some fixing.. Cant scroll down page without hitting the tab key. Sucks big time. Also, I have a very simple 1099-Misc - royalties from an oil company that literally pays us under $200 annually. I have to file using the Premium version just for this stupid form. Gonna try H & R Block next year. Sorry Turbo tax. Don't want me to leave? then waive my premium

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heck of a lot better than H&R I've used H&R Block since 2016. But they changed their program so I switched to you guys. I will be using Turbo Tax in the future unless you radically change your program.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purchased Deluxe but was switched to Premium I purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe from Walmart but the downloaded software was switched to Premium for which they charged me and extra $119.00. This was done without my permission and I was never given the opportunity to downgrade. I've been using Turbo-Tax since the 1980s and never had a problem. Next year I'll look into other tax software. I was really disappointed with Intuit. Also, the fee for e-filing a state return more than double.
