Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shamelessly adding fees for no good reason Take a little bit fine, but there are so many traps for paying more fees like a credit card convenience fee that is 2.49% of your total owed + a minimum convenience fee. Or the $39 fee for using your return to pay for the service. I used neither option but its just annoying that on top of having to say NO to ADD MAX a million times, there are just more and more fees. I'm already paying $120 +$59 just to file...that should be enough!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why is it so expensive? Money for lobbying? There's no reason for it to cost as much as it does to file my taxes. I'm a new small business owner, so my return obviously wasn't enough to cover the ridiculous $190 cost of filing. But I guess that's the price we pay for the convenience of using a service that's constantly lobbying congress to make the service necessary. There's literally no reason the IRS can't handle the processing and distribution of tax returns.
