Now that they are popular and people are using their services more often, they don't seem to care about quality of their service. Two years in a row, 2020 and 2021, they left my taxes undone without any support,,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst experience ever using this application The time it took to complete this process was 10 times longer than the 28 minutes alluded to at the beginning of the application, i.e., 4+ hours. The number of repetitive steps so the company could display more ads was both annoying and time consuming. I had to enter the same information multiple times because I chose not to use uploadable or scanned documents or photos which I did not have. The "Print page" link worked erratically and stopped completely at the very end when I attempted to get a copy of the completed documents. I request at least a 25% refund of the fee charged for the inconvenience of using this product. And I will find another tax preparation vendor next year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Good and Bad Turbotax has gotten harder to use. The fields and language are more difficult to understand. I had to use the online chat feature this year - but on the positive side they answered my questions and fixed a problem I had. On the bad side, it is silly and you are losing money clumping together the audit defense option with identify theft option. I would have paid more for the audit defense option as a stand alone. But as it was, I didn't get it because I didn't want the identify theft option. You lost money.

Turbotax made us fill out Schedule H-S, and then installed an error into that prevented us from filing. Tried to up-sell us on premium packages as a way of fixing their error. Information on deductions was flat-out contradictory to information on the IRS website. It told us that certain energy-efficient modifications we'd made to our home were non-deductible, whereas the IRS clearly stated they were. If there were *any* other reasonably priced alternative on the market, I'd choose that over Turbotax in a heartbeat. I've used this software for years, and it's always a horrific pain. Next year I might just pay a professional to do our taxes for us; the extra expense is worth avoiding this complete horse manure.
