Scheduled an appointment and the assistant deleted documents before even meeting with me then asked me to explain what she deleted. Unacceptable!!! I did them myself and Federal was easy enough. I was able to click on the hyperlinks to understand what was being asked or type in my question. State was not as intuitive. Where it was asking for information there was no help. That could be better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gadget Fiend from Random Software Issues with State Filing Initial attempt to download State Software failed due to UNKNOWN PUBLISHER issue. Contacted Intuit and they advised me to buy another copy of Turbotax and try to return the copy that I had. Left the software for a while and then tried again. Turbotax needed an update. Then no issues with State Tax software download. Tried to eFile the State Tax Return and was directed to the Turbotax external site via browser. Browser had issues collecting my credit card information so I was informed via popup window that I had to try again later. Waited for about half an hour or so and was able to pay for the State eFile. Finally, after a week's worth of struggling with the software, I am done with my taxes.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
