Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax 2020 Amended Tax Return Everything was fine until I got to the point of e-filing my amended 2020 From 1040 tax return on April 3, 2023. Once I started the process to e-file, I got an error message that said "Correct your signature Date. The date (04/03/2023) should be within 01/01/2021 to 12/31/2021." After reviewing posts in the TurboTax Community and speaking by phone with a TurboTax Customer Service Representative, I was informed that I must mail my amended tax return even though I e-filed the original tax return. The TurboTax software should be updated to either permit e-filing an amended tax return within the IRS's statutory timeline, or make it clear upfront that the amended tax return must be mailed.
