When it found things that needed to be corrected, it would provide a box to fill in and reference a form or section. But it often wasn't enough information. Usually one piece of information is related to a few others. It would be more helpful to provide some of that related information to help correct the error.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
