Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works really well but getting sick of ads and fees I've used TT for years, always loved the easy to use software. I don't know if I'll use it again though. There are too many similar but much cheaper options out there now and I'm pretty tired of TT's fees and constant pressure ot add services.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax Omits Crucial eFile Guidance Info 1. Prior Year AGI: I filed an amended return for 2021, and since that is the most current return I used the AGI from the amended return. IRS promptly rejected my 2022 return- apparently they want the first-filed AGI even though it was superceded/changed by the amended return. TurboTax should say "If you filed amended return(s) last year that changed the originally-filed AGI, use the first-filed AGI despite it having been superceded." 2. eFile PINs: TurboTax says that I can use any 5-digit PINs I want to use for my 2022. However, during the rejection process caused by the IRS's mind-boggling insistence on using the first-filed AGI instead of the actual one from the amended return, TurboTax implied that my PINs for 2022 must match those fro 2021, else IRS will reject the eFiled return. One or the other of these statements is therefore false- either the 2022 PIN can be made up on the spot OR it must match the PIN(s) used for the prior year return. 3. TurboTax State: TurboTax pesters/nags me to purchase the TurboTax State product even though I live in a state with no state income tax. This silliness undermines the confidence I might otherwise have in TurboTax's programming competence. At this moment I am still waiting to see if IRS will accept my newly eFiled return using the first-filed AGI and the PINs from my 2021 return. Shame on TurboTax for not making these points clear the first time I eFiled the 2022 return.
