I wish I'd known that my computer no longer supported this year's version of TurboTax *before* I purchased the software download -- would have saved me $60. Other than that, everything went very smoothly. Easy interface. Online version, if anything, worked more easily than the downloaded software did in years past.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbotax Crashed & Lost Data Turbotax Desktop for Mac. First time ever that this happened - app has been solid for many years, never crashed or lost data before. The new authentication mechanism for connecting to and downloading third party brokerage information has problems. Merrill connectivity / authentication is still embedded in the Ttax app and worked fine. But Fidelity and JPMorgan Chase each started up an external browser window and required authentication through a pop-up window in the browser. This failed and Turbotax crashed, losing all its data. I had to start over this year's return from scratch, very bad. Also, next time through (file-save often), attempting to download through this external browser method did not work for either brokerage. The procedure worked but the data simply didn't download, didn't show up in the app. I tried restarting the Ttax app, restarting browser, clearing browser caches, etc. The only thing that worked was changing the default browser on the computer to a different browser entirely, then killing the Ttax app, then restarting the Ttax app, entering the interview again, calling out to the new browser, then downloads worked properly. Very klunky when it did work, and very poor integration quality.
