I have been using Turbo Tax for decades and have always found it to be a little "buggy". This years edition had several but all were fairly easy to overcome. Overall, I had a good experience especially for the price of free!

The way the explanations are dumbed down for everybody so everybody is well informed, makes me feel like using turbotax should be taught in school so everyone is prepared for their adulting life. I really love how they make it easier each year and is updated with all current info that will help with filing taxes. I look back in the past where I just blindly let an accountant file for me while they do the bare minimum while they charge me a chunk of what little I was making makes me really wish I knew this earlier on.

HOWEVER, on the page where I pay, the IC Protection was $44 ON TOP OF the $119 it said the service was included under. Furthermore, in the help, it says the ID Protection is added for FREE. Lastly, there is no way to remove the fee by this point. I would have had to scrap my whole return and restart. Shady business practice.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
