They make it clear by explaining what you are saying yes or no to. Very good help sections. Thank you for making it possible.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as I expected Main concern: Priorities. You assumed users are primarily interested in their refunds, the only numbers shown at the top of most pages. Even if taxes are owed, that is still displayed as a negative refund; correct but still stressing refunds. Most tax advice I have received explains that, ideally, you should not receive any refund because that indicates you have overpaid. Your emphasis on refunds is a somewhat simplistic attitude toward your customers. I would much prefer displaying the total income entered so far and the tax on that income after each step. The wording throughout is chatty, to the point of being flippant. Examples: "Now it's time for the fun part." "Your Tax Breaks" (major section label). "Congrats, you get a tax break." "Part of your distribution is now tax free!" These adjustments are hardly secrets unknown to your customers. Another specific irritant: the telephone confirmation voice is synthetic, hard to understand. What I missed most: tax forms were never shown, neither for data entry or review. That would be a welcome option.
