Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Product Easy to use, BUT no one to call It is good, it is easy, but it really sucks you don't have customer service phones. I wanted to find out when taxes are due, and no help from you or a way to call and ask, unless you pay for that service. I get it for tax help, but a general question, like tax due date...come on.

Year after year, the cost to file my return goes up, and all the while free options exist. It's never revealed how much you'll be actually need to pay until after the return is completed, and at that point, you're essentially a hostage. There are, in fact, "Tax Tools" where you can check your fees along the way, but this is never explained, and you're automagically upgraded to higher cost tiers as deemed necessary. I only discovered this after I had relented and paid $188, and this is exactly by design; Intuit does not want this information readily available. If you choose to pay for their services using your tax return, well, that'll be another $40. Hit "back" and pay with your credit card to avoid that extra fee. This year I gave back over half my refund to Intuit, and it'll be the last time I'm so foolish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Last year got rejected. Same this year. Last year I e-filed, got rejected. The person helping me didn't know why, suggested printing and sending by mail. Ended up filing late. I was assed late penalty and interest. Tried this year to e-file got rejected twice. this will probably be my last year with turbo tax.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Declining Opinion of Turbo Tax Given the significant concerns of fraud, spamming, phishing and data breaches happening right & left, the direction TurboTax has taken the tax preparation software is disappointing. I've used TurboTax for almost 2 decades and this year was the first time I started to wonder if I was on a spoofing website. The amount of "selling" TurboTax is doing and/or the way it is being done has left me having a declining opinion of TurboTax's reputation and credibility. Our most sensitive and significant data assets are provided to TurboTax and getting interrupted with repeated solicitations through the tax preparation process negatively impacts the brand and trustworthy reputation it had in my eyes over the years. The customer experience and brand trust is not as good as it was in previous years. I was so paranoid this time around that when I got a call from TurboTax AND when I called TurboTax to resolve a rejection issue, I kept wondering if I was ACTUALLY dealing with a TurboTax employee or if it was a scam. The questions, the step-by-step process - all great and good and smooth, but everything else mentioned above is why my rating is only a 3-star rating. My feedback for what it's worth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You caused my taxes to be filed LATE!@! Very very upset that my taxes were NOT filed when your software indicated to me they had been filed. PLEASE CHANGE your software to RED FLAG they are NOT filed. Due to your confusion, my taxes are FILED LATE!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FEES I did not like that the fees are hidden till you get through quite a bit of paper work. Then they try to make you get upgraded. I am sure its in the fine print that there is a direct deposit fee, I didn't expect there to be. I'm frugal and would rather have had my refund sent in the mail. I'll probably use them again though.
