Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy but Predatory TurboTax was easy to use, but it also is sneaky and constatnly tries to scare you into upgrading. Also, to file certain forms they require you to upgrade because somehow some forms are way more complex and special than others. I genuinely don't think so, but it was easy so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. At the end of the day, these tax companies use fear and confusion to make you file with them and it works every time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax way to buggy Turbo tax has way to many bugs for financial software. Got in a loop trying to enter student loan interest, the type it in myself never worked. Messaging never explained why it was failing. Payment from a mobile device also did not work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This will be my last year using TurboTax I exercised and held ISO stock options in 2022. I paid extra this year for the Live Expert Support service because I knew there would be a tax implication. The first "expert" I spoke with told me that there would be no tax implication until I sold the options -- I knew this sounded off, so after brief research I found that this was not true. So I called back and got a different "expert" who said she had never dealt with AMT before and would need a few hours to research. I ultimately called a family friend who walked me through what I needed to do. One TurboTax expert gave me inaccurate advice that could have caused significant liability to me, the other admitted she was not familiar with a relatively common tax situation. I also intend to seek a refund for the money I paid for the service. Unless you have an extremely straight forward tax situation, I do not recommend using TurboTax.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from frustrating glitches First problem - TT got hung up on a typo pulled in from a previous form and would neither let me edit it nor transmit my return. Don't know what I did but eventually on 10th try it went thru. Second problem - TT finished state return and I checked it 4 times and on only the 4th time it suddenly revised it saying I didn't owe penalty for late payment on state form but I don't know why that change was made or why it only changed on a 4th check of the return. I can't tell if this change is correct or an error. No explanation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is great Turbo tax makes filing taxes easier and has a question answer platform that helps make certain information understandable. However, when there is an item for review it is difficult to change or navigate the information to correct it. I'm not sure if purchasing the upgrade made the difference in the ability to change the information in the file.
