Instead of buying the software in order to do my taxes I couldve used the money to have a tax agent do the same thing and efile it. the whole point of buying the software is to efile it after you finish.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
