Their online filling the forms vs doing what was downloaded into my computer needs to be plainly shown as I had to redo data entered online into form in my computer when I was unable to find way to continue online today. So, I did taxes via forms downloaded as I had in past 10 years. The new forms allow for Ohio state tax overpayment to be credited to next year's taxes. Too bad Turbo Tax doesn't allow that option for federal taxes, though the federal forms permit it. I had to take the money back; fortunately Turbo Tax does allow for the direct deposit option the feds allow. Turbo Tax, during 2023, please fix your federal tax forms to allow for overpayment of one year to be credited to the next year.

But as I have started to use more situations (i.e. More Stocks, bonds, options, etc.) The program keeps telling me information is incorrect when it matches documents EXACTLY. And there is no way to get any help except pay them another lots-o-money to talk to an expert for 2 seconds. If I'm going to spend all this money to do it myself why don't I just pay someone to do it for me and it will be less than TT charges.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
