Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax was there when I needed them! My Turbo Tax Representative took time to understand my situation, reviewed it and executed a solution. My Representative walked me through the process and stayed with me until I was satisfied with the results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have used Turbotax every year since the 90's This year I did not have any issues, but last year TT said I was eligible for a 1200 tax credit, which the IRS wanted back last November or so, not cool! otherwise I have used it for almost 30 yrs and like it very much.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustrating Turbo Tax is great for walking you through the tedious process of state and federal taxes, however there are issues. Primarily, It advertises free state taxes on t.v. and working through the program, it told me that my first state was free and I would be charged (I believe it was $40) for the second state. When I moved into the state tax section I was directed to input my payment information. I was then moved on the inputting other information. When I finally got to the end, it had my put the payment information again. First frustration. Then, the payment summary screen came up and the program was charging me $25 each for both states and sales tax. What?? Second (and big) frustration and annoyance. Then, the final blow, the program directed me to "save the file to print" when I wanted to print my hardcopy. So, I saved the file, again, and tried to print it. Back to the save box. I could not believe that I could not just simply print a copy of my tax file! So, I rated Turbo Tax with two stars because it is a good tax filing program, but when it comes to wrapping up at the end of the process, I find that there is an issue of some kind every year. Add that to charging me for both states and I'm thinking this is probably my last year using this program.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Frustrated at times I probably should have asked one of your experts for assistance, but I forgot it was an option. So instead i became frustrated with answering some questions mostly because i did not know exactly what the right choice was in some of the dropdowns...the choices i thought were not explicit enough and so making the right selection was difficult. Maybe, consider updating your program with more clarity for those of us over 65. And because i had to vascillate and ponder how to answer the questions, the filing process was impeded and slow. For example: Just like down below...under "your relationship"...I am widowed not single" but i chose single...although i still think of myself as married and i filed as married!!! Yet technically I am not married...but widowed, Lastly, the end of the intuit process was frustrating to say the least...you should make it short and sweet. Otherwise, i have used this program for at least 20 years and find it reliable, very accurate, easy to navigate, user friendly and worth the money. I give the program four stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So many problems Problems big and small. You have a lot of work to do. The search dialog has a flashing i-beam cursor but a user has to click to enter text there. Filing for an estate is very confusing. Had to google a lot and the TurboTax representatives had a lot of trouble too. The whole thing needs redone for filing for simple decedent estates. All I've got is a 1099-R for getting 401ks and such for a decedent's beneficiaries, and there's no DEDICATED form in TurboTax Business for that. Lots of questions are geared towards or only applicable to running a businesses, but this is not a business. Someone died. Period. The whole process needs retooled / branched for this quite common situation. "Nothing is certain in life but death and taxes." The location to enter 1099-R information is rather hidden. The jump-to link in the search results took me to "Other income" which sounds plausible but only if you happen to click on the explanatory text, might you notice a reference to 1099-R. If you do, there is still not enough fields (columns) to enter all the 1099-R's information. The "contact us" option gave me nothing for the phone number 2 of 3 tries, but that wasn't obvious what was happening until I got a dialog that did have a phone number. The web dialog I'm typing in right now has a text box grip triangle that doesn't work for expanding so I'm typing in a space with 4 visible lines. And yes, the text box grip triangles work in this browser for other sites. Two of your links from software to website were broken. The automated phone system railroaded me into getting texted or emailed with auto-garbage search results that I'd already seen, and it couldn't understand my name no matter how I said it or spelled it. I have a standard northeastern America accent and speak English as my first language. There was no background noise at the time. Tried repeatedly on two different calls. The first representative I spoke with did not understand spoken English enough to understand the problem I was having. He put me on hold for half an hour and then the call dropped. The second representative was fine.
