Rated 3 out of 5 by from Many ads to upgrade, even when paying for premium I've been doing my own taxes since I was 16 and this is my 6th year with Turbo Tax. It was very helpful while I was self-employed but I'll likely switch services next year. It's fine, but I find it expensive for simple returns and there's a lot of repetition, especially from TurboTax directing you to pay for a more expensive version (I do premium.) For someone who lives in one state and works in another, $119 in addition to the premium package seems steep to file 2 simple state forms, when no state taxes or only minimal taxes are due.

But this year I also learned the same is true for Itemized deductions. B ut not until I spent hours collection and entering the morgage interest (exceding 10,000), real estate and personal property taxes.
