I am seriously looking into doing it another way next year because the costs is insanely high for a simple return. Also the constant up-sale ads again for a simple return is beyond annoying.

I sold several rental properties and was worried it would be difficult to figure out capital gains and recaptured depreciation taxes. But TurboTax handled the disposition of the properties, accumulated depreciation, sales expenses, etc. with ease. Definitely recommend for small business owners.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
