One can either use a step by step approach or easily work upon sections of their tax return at a convenient time for oneself. Your Tax return can be saved and you can come back to it as many times as you prefer prior to filing your return with both the Federal and State Governments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Glitches with document deletion I live overseas but am a US government employee. I cannot file the foreign income exclusion. But the system insisted I had to even though I changed every answer I could think of. I was with a a TurboTax professional for more than an hour. Even after we deleted the documents, they still showed that they needed to be corrected before I could file. I finally changed the answer saying I do not live overseas because I did not want this to drag out any longer. The Turbo Tax guy said we could escalate this technical issue tomorrow if it didn't resolve. I also had trouble with a similar issue with my state tax and the online chat lady advised me to tell the state they had deducted taxes in error which I am not sure is the best answer. In previous years, I had a question that said, how much of this income was earned in this state and when said none, it automatically refunded the tax I had paid. Everything seemed different this year. And not better.
