It imported my bank documents, but seemed to create multiple copies and the same information had to be filled out multiple times. Also doubling checking values required unchecking boxes for blank items, very confusing. My taxes did not get more complicated this year (I didn't move/buy a house/change jobs/change banks), Turbo Tax just seems worse.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sch_tandc from The usual -- not pleased for starters: 1) On page 10 of the instructions for Form 1041 it states "If you have to add two or more amounts to figure the amount to enter on a line, include cents when adding the amounts and only round off the total." But the program rounds before adding. 2) The program review passes my return as error-free. Then tells me before printing there are errors to be corrected. Why can't those errors be caught during the review?

I found so many issues and things they missed and decided to try Turbotax instead. Turbotax got me all the right deductions and helped me understand the process in a way where I am confident I'm getting the results I deserve.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
