Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a Good Year with TurboTax I had a number of problems this year. My first was a problem correcting a mistake I made with my state taxes. The guided program would not let me correct it. I called an "expert" who told me he didn't know how to do so either and that I couldn't just start over again on the state taxes but would have to start over completely with my federal taxes. I am an experienced user, so I knew that I might be able to correct it by leaving the guided instructions and working on the actual tax form. However, to do this I had to go to the state tax site and read the instruction manual. I was able to figure out what to do. Before finishing I also found a mistake in my federal taxes and needed to go to that tax form to correct it. Finally, when I engaged in the e-file process, my first attempt failed. The instructions said to try again, which I did twice. Next I was told go to support online, which I did, though it wasn't straightforward with its advice. Finally, I tried updating the software again. It took awhile, but when I finished I found that the amount I owed in state taxes had been reduced. When I repeated the final steps the e-file was successful. Ultimately, the program worked for me, but I believe that many users would have given up.

And this year I came back because I had tax returns from two states and it was difficult for me. Turbo Tax provided great service in record time.
