Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax is a UX Nightmare Using TurboTax is an exercise in patience with frustrating software. Here's just a few of the issues that come up seemingly every year: - Working through a wizard and answering a bunch of repetitive questions. Upon completion, you see a splash screen informing you that everything looks great, and then back to the starting screen telling you that you need to complete the section. - Multiple places that expect me to re-enter data that's been entered elsewhere. In one case I had to re-enter all of the information for a beneficiary, even though TurboTax already knows about my beneficiaries - just give me a pick list! - Every year I have to enter my DL information, and it rarely changes. Try to enter dashes? Wrong! But we won't tell you until after you enter it. Asking users to specify the date format instead of just, you know, figuring it out is an odd design choice. Seems likely that the whole page was an intern project that got chalked up as "good enough" and ignored. All in all, TurboTax is a frustrating experience, and does not inspire confidence that my taxes are done correctly.
